Imbizo Gallery to Celebrate African Art & Culture

In honour of Women’s Month…

Ann Proksch (Art Director), left, and Pauline Oor (Manager) at Imbizo Gallery are flanked by a Marke Meyer Bronze called ‘Wayward Dreams of the Outside World’. Behind Ann and Pauline is Ngwenya recycled glass from Swaziland, and a painting by Diane Erasmus. Imbizo is a beautifully light gallery which is situated in the new Pearls Mall in Umhlanga. Visit it to view the variety of visually arresting art pieces.

On 8 September Imbizo Gallery will host ‘Explore African Art’ in partnership with the Global Shapers Community Durban Hub. The event forms the launch of the  Open Africa Initiative, a journey that will take place between 30 African cities. The journey is aimed at promoting the African artisan and the creation of a digital archive. Imbizo Gallery will curate the Digital Cultural Archive on behalf of Global Shapers.
